University 警察局rs promote safety and security on 校园 by being proactive: 的y patrol 校园 routinely, enforce the law, and offer educational programs on safety. 的 department is committed to both the philosophy and the practice of community policing. When investigating crimes, the University Police Department works 关闭ly with area law enforcement agencies and shares information with them.

University Police has a 关闭 working relationship with the 普拉茨堡 Police Department, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York State Police. This relationship includes regular radio communications with those agencies and emergency services.

的 Office of Emergency Management (OEM) assists the 校园 in mitigating for, preparing for, responding to and recovering from the effects of all hazards (natural, technological and/or man-made).

Educational programs focus on primary prevention and awareness for all incoming students and new employees concerning rape, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, 和被人跟踪.

的se educational programs provide information on college policies and regulations, 程序 and practices for when violence occurs, and how to prevent future violence and  include: a statement that these crimes are prohibited at the college; definitions of consent, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, 和被人跟踪 in the college’s jurisdiction; safe and positive bystander intervention when there’s a risk of one of those incidents; information on risk reduction to recognize warning signs of abusive behavior and avoiding potential attacks; and information about disciplinary 程序.

  University Police on-校园 escort service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any 校园 location to any other 校园 location.

• SUNY 普拉茨堡 Police Bike Patrol

  Specially trained officers patrol the 校园 roadways and grounds on purpose-specific bicycles outfitted with emergency lighting and reflectors. You will likely see our bicycle patrols at special events, move-in day or other times when having an extremely mobile patrol force would be advantageous. Patrolling on bicycles allows officers to quickly get around 校园 without the impediment of traffic and with the benefit of being stealthy. Bicycle patrols continue to be popular with police departments nationwide and has proven to be a valuable crime prevention tool.

• Blue Light Phones

  Blue light phones are located across 校园 and in the foyer entry of buildings on 校园.

  Do not hesitate to use one if you believe you might be in danger.

  的 phones ring directly in to the University Police dispatch number and an officer will be dispatched to the area.

  Familiarize yourself with the locations of the blue light phones on 校园 before 你需要他们.

• Vehicle Lock-Outs

  Locked out of your car on 校园?  Our officers will assist 校园 employees, students and visitors 24 hours a day to unlock their vehicles.

• Vehicle Jump Start Kits

  Available to members of the 校园 community 24 hours a day. Pick up at the University 警察局.

• 锁匠

  的 locksmith office is responsible for the installation and maintenance of locks 在我们的校园. Our locksmith office will assist students, faculty and staff who are experience issues with their locks. 锁匠 services are available Monday – Friday 从早上7:30开始.m. 到下午4点.m. • Educational 项目

  项目 to promote awareness and prevention of sexual assault, dating/partner violence, stalking and/or hate crimes and incidents are presented to new in-coming freshman and transfer students, residents of dormitories, members of fraternities and sororities, sports teams, members of student association organizations and other relevant and interested individuals and groups. Some examples include:

  • Rape Aggression Defense course (RAD)

孩子 & Youth Protection Program

活动 involving children and youth are an integral part of our role as a center of learning in the North Country. SUNY 普拉茨堡 is committed to protecting the safety and well-being of children and youth who participate in a college-related program or activity (whether on or off-校园) and has developed a child and youth protection program that establishes appropriate conduct for employees charged with the custody, control, or supervision of children and youth.
